After 3hrs, we met the guide at Bukit Lawang. 20 minute into our hike, we saw an orangutan with its baby. This was worth every minute of the long drive! After an hour of watching it climb trees and getting close to us, we moved to a gazebo for lunch. The same orangutan came up and snatched our food! However we were give the option of a short walk on day 1 (thankfully we all declined) and had a long trek and saw lots of what we came for. Day 2 was very short started late and finished just after lunch. Had a nice swim in a waterfall after lunch but saw no wildlife which is what I came for. Day 3 was better, a decent days trekking and saw a great orangutan up close with just our small group. Day 4 was no trekking, no wildlife and tubing out of camp…”
