Review of the Ushuaia Laguna Esmeralda trek, with muddy trail tips, guide quality, lunch details, price advice, and what to expect.

“The trip was great and the Guide, Manuel, was excellent!! It was raining in the morning, so the trail was very mud heat but the view at the lake did not disappoint. The scenery there and back was educational and beautiful. It was well worth it.”

Trek to Ushuaia’s Emerald Lagoon with a small group, guide, snacks, and lunch. Get practical advice on weather, boots, trail conditions, and value.

“This isn’t a difficult hike but you do need to take it seriously (it had been snowing that morning)! The tour operator rightly insisted on boots (not trail shoes) which we hired for around £6. Our guide was very good and informative. Always a pleasure to hike in a group.”

Review of Tierra del Fuego trekking and canoeing from Ushuaia, with forest trails, Lapataia Bay, lunch, costs, and practical tips.

“We booked this tour as it was advertised as a thrilling inflatable canoe trip followed by a medium difficulty hike with rivers, forest, sea and mountain views in Tierra del Fuego National Park. Unfortunately it was not as described. The raft was fine but our guide spoke almost constantly with his colleague for around 30 minutes and offered no useful information. He ignored questions, gave no paddling guidance and stayed mostly silent apart from chatting. We could hear the other guide sharing facts and engaging with their group while ours did nothing similar. Our raft grounded several times and when entering Lapataia Bay in strong winds we received no direction…”

“Hiking to the glacier was amazing. Such a beautiful hike, the guide was amazing and went above and beyond. Packed us soup and coffee/tea for the top. We weren’t able to go into the glacier cave because it was unsafe due to the melt but still very pretty.”

Review of the Laguna Esmeralda trek near Ushuaia, with muddy trails, mountain scenery, lunch, guide tips, pricing, and practical advice.

“The scenary is amazing and our guide was so funny and nice. However it should be better described because the trail is really not suited for everyone. It is said to be easy but is not. There is difficult forest walk and most of all lots and lots of mud. The scenaries are worth the fatigue but people should be more aware”
